IntroductionThe Field Archaeology Unit (FAU) of the Postgraduate of Archaeology, University of Kelaniya undertakes research and contract work in Sri Lanka, with particular interests in reconnaissance surveys, archaeological impact assessment surveys, site evaluations, archaeological mapping, archaeological excavations, and retrieval of forensic materials in buried contexts. The other services include desk-based assessments, thematic analysis of artifacts, report writing, and conducting training sessions on archaeological field reconnaissance methods & techniques and archaeological photography especially designed for armatures.
